Midtown Green is kicking off 2022 with a new director and a bigger staff. As part of our landscaping and maintenance team, they’ll be on the ground and working to create a better Midtown for you every day. Meet them below:

New Year, New Leadership

Milton Jones, Midtown Green’s new Director of Operations, has more than 12 years of property management experience, most recently for a company in Georgia. He has lived in the Peach State for just over a year, having moved here from Florida. He grew up in Pahokee, Fla. in Palm Beach County.

“I am absolutely loving my experience so far,” Jones said. “I have a strong team that is experienced and always ready to tackle any task. The culture of Midtown Alliance is welcoming with a great sense of teamwork.”

Jones had only visited Atlanta a few times before accepting his new position, but his colleagues are quickly bringing him up to speed with morning training sessions. They do several rounds in the district every morning to check on Midtown Green crew members at job sites and look proactively for issues such as graffiti, trash and repairs that may be needed.

“We’re looking to do great things in 2022,” Jones said. “Right now, we’re looking at how the processes are working and how we can make some improvements. We’re looking at our tree well program and how we can keep that going, and how we can keep the Midtown Improvement District looking its finest overall.”

Jones’ hobbies include listening to motivational podcasts, playing basketball and scouting out new hiking trails in the metro Atlanta area.

A Cleaner, Safer Midtown

Midtown Green also recently added two new staff members, Ronald “Jay” Parker and Daniel Chase. Their responsibilities include maintaining public parks and plazas, cleaning debris and collecting trash, performing landscaping duties and addressing ADA and safety issues along sidewalks and curbs.

Parker is from Simpsonville, South Carolina, and he has lived in Atlanta for the past 15 years. He spent years in the automotive industry before going into landscaping. Parker is a huge University of South Carolina football fan, and his most recent hobby is riding e-scooters. Since beginning his job in Midtown, he has ordered his own scooter so he doesn’t have to rely on rental scooters and can ride more frequently.

Chase moved from St. Louis, Missouri, to Atlanta in 2018. He is a licensed plumber who enjoys playing basketball in his spare time, in addition to coaching football.

Parker and Chase bring the Green team to 14 total members, and Jones looks to add to the night crew in 2022. Meet our other Midtown Green staff members here, and give them a wave next time you see them out in the district.
