Details
The “Something To Say” Workshop will give artists (of all levels) the means to trust their own handwriting and to communicate with the world!
It is so easy to click on the pre-programmed fonts in your computer, but does Helvetica always convey the energy behind your message? This workshop will challenge us to try new mediums to use the alphabet in new intriguing ways.
"In my own work, I take the hard road to create text from scratch. Not because I like pain and punishment, but because I want the words to match the imagery as best as possible!"
George will also show how hand-drawn lettering has been used throughout the history of graphic communication. So by the end of the workshop, you too can learn how to believe not only in what you say, but also, in the hand that creates it!
Outcomes for this Workshop:
- Develop a Full Custom Alphabet and Number System
- Learning to Trust your Handwriting
- Seeing what YOU have to Say
Getting Here
George’s Studio is located immediately off the motor court at One Peachtree Pointe.

About George
George F. Baker III, also known as GFB3, may be one of Atlanta’s busiest artists. In the last three years, he’s completed more than 40 murals across the country. He has also designed a cover for Atlanta Magazine, has helped create advertisements for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, and painted multiple storefronts around the city. George is also most certainly one of Atlanta’s friendliest artists. His work employs a playful spirit that connects with community and engages the inner child within us all. His skyrocketing success shows that nice guys really can finish first.

Midtown Heart of the Arts
George’s studio at Peachtree Pointe is gifted to him for a year and made possible by partnership between Dewberry Foundation and Midtown Alliance. By creating space and opportunities for artists to work in Midtown, the Heart of the Arts Residency Program generates publicly accessible artwork and arts experiences for the whole community. Be on the lookout for artwork by George and other residents, as well as arts-focused programming for you to enjoy.
