This week, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra welcomes two Grammy® award-winning artists. Canadian-American conductor Peter Oundjian conducts Rimsky-Korsakov’s high-octane Spanish romp, Capriccio espagnol—a true showpiece for this virtuoso orchestra. Joshua Bell, one of the most celebrated violinists of his generation, performs the rousing Violin Concerto No. 1 by Max Bruch. In a recent performance of the Bruch, Bachtrack wrote: “Bell drew from his instrument the freshest, most inevitable tones, flowing like liquid silver under a touch that was vibrant but delicately restrained.” Oundjian also leads the Orchestra in the beloved symphonic poem The Moldau by Bedřich Smetana.
