Details
Inspired by Joseph Stella’s layering of light forms on dark backgrounds, experiment with depth and density by overlaying black and white shapes. Learn how to create distance within your composition by using markers or collage on the surface of your drawing. Play with detail and texture to add light and dark areas in your composition.
In our March series of classes, draw inspiration from the organic elements in Joseph Stella’s artworks and focus on symmetry and harmony in the natural world. Led by teaching artist Larkin Ford, explore the combination of ornate, complex patterns and formal simplicity in Stella’s compositions.
All drawing levels welcome; supplies included.
Ticket includes access to the Museum.
