Details
Using symmetrical plant forms made from folded and cutout paper, trace and layer to create a sense of rich plant growth. Borrow ideas from Joseph Stella to create silhouettes—trees, flowers, bushes, and clumps of grass can all be reduced to simple silhouettes! Then draw within the outlines to add details and variety to your composition.
In our March series of classes, draw inspiration from the organic elements in Joseph Stella’s artworks and focus on symmetry and harmony in the natural world. Led by teaching artist Larkin Ford, explore the combination of ornate, complex patterns and formal simplicity in Stella’s compositions.
All drawing levels welcome; supplies included.
Ticket includes access to the Museum.
