This October marks the 25th anniversary of the murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man whose tragic death gripped the nation. To commemorate this somber occasion, Atlanta chamber choir Coro Vocati will perform a concert version of the acclaimed oratorio,"Considering Matthew Shepard."

Pairing chamber choir and rich orchestrations, "Considering Matthew Shepard" is a powerful and emotionally gripping musical journey. This brilliant tribute to Shepard's life and legacy incorporates a variety of musical styles and a range of poetic and soulful texts, including passages from Shepard’s personal journal. "Considering Matthew Shepard" is a unique musical experience that is both heartbreaking and uplifting. While the work chronicles how hate can lead people to attack those viewed as different, it also promotes a message of love and acceptance that society needs now more than ever.

Coro Vocati’s performance of "Considering Matthew Shepard" will occur on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta in Midtown. Adult tickets are $25, with student tickets priced at $15. For more information or to buy tickets, visit corovocati.org.
