Constellations, in creative and cultural partnership with MODA, Civil Sights, and Tantrum Agency is pleased to introduce the latest edition of the Periodical Articles Club! It's like a book club, only with less commitment.

In each session, we dive into an article (which we'll all read in advance) and engage in a lively discussion with relevant guests and a moderator. It's fun, fast, and full of good conversation.

Join us for lunch and insightful conversation about Charlotte Beach's article, "In Conversation With Tré Seals—The Type Designer Diversifying the Future of Design By Looking To the Past," in connection with the new CHARACTERS exhibition on view now at MODA.

Topics of discussion will include civil rights, design, preservation, literature, and popular culture.

Participants

Our discussion will be led by David Tann, Graphic Designer in Residence at MODA, alongside panelists:

Gene Kansas: Author of Civil Sights

Brian Simons: Graphic designer for Civil Sights

Clay Kiningham: Atlanta architect and illustrator of Civil Sights

Together, they will discuss how history, culture, civil rights, design, and Tré Seals' work has influenced Civil Sights (forthcoming UGA Press , February 2025) and the significant impact design has on civil rights, social justice and preservation.
