15th St Safe Street

Project Category: All Projects Bike + e-Scooter Facilities

Updated 4/28/2023

Project Overview

The Midtown Transportation Plan and the City's Atlanta Transportation Plan identified the need for a safe east/west micromobility route in the northern part of Midtown for the growing number of people riding bikes, e-scooters, and other personal mobility options. Several new north/south bike facilities are planned in this area including Spring Street, West Peachtree Street, and Piedmont Avenue. An east/west connection is critical to developing a network of safe routes for micromobility users.

In partnership with the City, Midtown Alliance has engaged a consultant team to develop a plan to improve this corridor. This project will add a micromobility connection on 15th Street between West Peachtree Street and Piedmont Avenue. A safe and convenient connection will provide much needed access to Piedmont Park, Ansley Park, major employment centers, cultural and institutional centers, and the Arts Center MARTA rail station. This project will also connect bike lanes on 15th Street to those existing or planning on Piedmont Ave, Peachtree Circle, West Peachtree Street, and Spring Street.
