Drone Days of Summer: The Latest Sky-High Views of Midtown Development Projects
We sent our drone into the wild blue yonder for updates on several projects around the district
Published: 08/05/21
Construction activity throughout the district continues at a blistering pace. Midtown Alliance's eye in the sky captured the latest progress of several office, institutional and residential towers that will become part of the Midtown skyline in the months and years to come. Have a look:
Emory Winship at Midtown - 580 Peachtree Street
The Emory Winship cancer treatment facility continues its vertical ascent near the Bank of America tower. We count about 15 stories here in the frame-up for the new tower, out of 17 total stories for the planned project. The expected opening date for the 455K sf cancer treatment center is spring 2022.
The Hadley - 121 5th Street
This north-facing vantage shows the first few floors of The Hadley's 299 planned residential units rising adjacent to the Saint Mark United Methodist Church. This multifamily build-out by Street Lights Residential will go 26 stories high and is anticipated to open in spring 2023.
903 Peachtree
It took some fancy flying near overhead power lines off Juniper Street to get next to the CA Ventures apartment tower going up, up, up - 33 stories and 427 residential units in total - at the corner of 8th and Peachtree Streets. This view shows about 10 stories of the residential use so far, sitting atop the podium parking. 903 Peachtree is slated for its debut in the fall of 2022.
1382 Peachtree
Can you dig it? Dirt is turning at the corner of Peachtree and 17th Streets on the site of Greystar's 32-story residential tower that will introduce 281 units and 7,800 sf of retail space to Midtown. The project has a completion window set for spring 2023.
SCAD Mixed-Use Project - 1470 Spring Street
We sent the drone high over the Breman Museum on Spring Street to capture this northward view of SCAD's big project going vertical. The 20-story facility will deliver 85K sf of institutional space (including the new home of SCAD Show) as well as 973 beds for students and 5,500 sf of retail space, all of which are coming by the fall of 2022.
Midtown Union - 1295 Spring Street
The massive two-tower complex from MetLife and Granite Properties is rounding into form at the corner of Spring and 17th Streets, as seen from this southeast view from over the Center for Puppetry Arts. On the way for autumn 2022 are 611K sf of office space, 355 residential units, 210 hotel rooms and 33,500 sf of retail. And as an added bonus, you can see the progress happening on the Novel Midtown project further down Spring Street at 14th (middle right), where about eight of the planned 12 stories are visible.
