Join MODA and Scraplanta for an afternoon of stitching, storytelling, and resistance.

Embroidery has never been just decoration. It’s a tool of protest, a reclamation of space, and a way to make quiet thoughts visible. This hands-on workshop embraces that radical potential—teaching fundamental techniques while inviting participants to create bold textiles statements that confront, disrupt, or demand change.

Held during Mental Health Awareness Month, this gathering also offers space for reflection and cathartic making.

Participants will:

•Learn foundational embroidery techniques—or apply skills they already know. No experience needed.

•Work with reclaimed and repurposed materials provided by Scraplanta.

•Stitch messages, symbols, and designs that speak to power, identity, and collective care.

•Explore the subversive history of textiles as resistance, especially within marginalized communities.

•Experience the grounding, therapeutic act of making by hand.

All materials are provided. Bring your voice. Stitch something bold.
