Hi there! Thanks for joining us to explore how improving bus stops can shape a more comfortable, lively, & equitable Midtown.

Question Title

We’ve embarked on an effort to improve the comfort, convenience, character, and accessibility of bus stops in Midtown. The study uses the West Peachtree Street and Spring Street corridors as a testing ground for creative strategies that explore how these critical pieces of infrastructure can become welcoming and functional community spaces reflective of the diversity and vibrancy of Midtown.

Since we spoke last in April/May, the design team has been hard at work translating the feedback you provided into a shared vision, as well as a series of draft design recommendations to make that vision a reality. Thank you for taking the time to explore our creative ideas for the future of bus stops in Midtown and share your ideas for how to advance them. We appreciate your participation and hope you continue to stay involved!

Firstly, let's talk about how we arrived at our draft design concepts!

At the root of our design concepts is our technical analysis and our conversations with the Midtown community during our visioning touchpoints in April and May. A few key points from those conversations are noted below. If you'd like to review our full technical analysis, click here.

Building on the feedback above and our technical analysis, we developed two concepts that reimagine the bus stop as a small comfortable urban space, rather than just a purpose built piece of infrastructure.

These draft design concepts, and a few alternatives for each, are illustrated below. Note, we're currently showing our concepts on the footprint of a traditional MARTA bus shelter, though they are designed to scale up and down depending on the space available.

Question Title

* 3. Now that you've had a chance to explore both concepts, which would you like us to continue developing?

Lastly, help us hone in on which stops we should focus our design effort/attention on first.

In our next phase of work we'll refine the preferred design concept above and adapt it to three "priority" bus stops across the Spring Street and West Peachtree Street corridors. We need your help identifying which stops these should be by answering the questions below!

Question Title

* 4. What criteria should drive site selection? Choose up to 3!

Question Title

* 5. Are there any specific stops in the study area you want us to focus on? Share your thoughts on which stops we should design for first here!

Thanks for sharing your ideas and joining us in making waiting for the bus along Spring Street and West Peachtree Street better! We have a few more requests below...

Question Title

* 6. What's your connection to Midtown? Choose all that apply!
